What happens to Simon after the hunters leave his clearing? What is the “lord of the flies”? What does it represent? How does it talk to Simon — what does its speech really indicate? When the hunters leave, Simon feels strange. The lord of the flies is the dead pigs head that Jack had killed. This represents the savagery and evilness in the boys. When it talks to Simon is indicates that he was correct about the bestie, it is infact the boys on the island. It also states the rapid decline by the boys, talking to pigs heads; is Simon imagining things from being on the island so long?

After the haters leave the clearing, Simon starts to feel strange and then has an hallucination that the pig head the hunters put on the stick starts to 'talk' to him. This shows that slowly the boys are starting to become a little insane after spending so long on the island. The pig represents the boys savage nature and the evilness they all have inside them. It tells and confirms what Simon suspected which was the boys actually being the beast.

Simon appears from the clearing when the hunters leave. The pigs head is impaled on a stick in his peaceful area. Simons heart begins to beat impulsively, and Simon sits in front of the pigs head, or the 'Lord of the Flies'. The Lord of the Flies represents the evil in every single one of the boys, and the pigs head begins to talk through simons head to him, and informs him that the beast is really the boys themselves. The speech of the pig could suggest the boys are losing their minds, and becoming mentally unstable.

What happens to Simon after the hunters leave his clearing? What is the “lord of the flies”? What does it represent? How does it talk to Simon — what does its speech really indicate? Once the hunters leave his clearing, Simon starts to feel a bit weird. As the giant pig head (which is now known as the 'Lord of the Flies') speaks to Simon, you start to gather that he confirms that the boys are actually the beast themselves. The pig head represents evil. The pig head can represent the evil that's inside every boy on the island, and that evil has taken control amd is being understood easier than civilised behaviour.

After the hunters leave the clearing, Simon feels a bit odd. A pulse begins to beat in his temple and he can't stop looking at the 'Lord of the Flies'. The Lord of the Flies is a dead pigs head which was killed by Jack and the hunters. It represents the evil within the boys and within human nature. The Lord of the Flies 'talks' to Simon and tells him what he had tried to tell the other boys, that the beastie is actually the boys themselves. Simon can't stop himself from looking at the "Lord of the Flies" and as it 'talks' to him, we can see how he may be losing himself to the island and reality. The Lord of the Flies confirms that the boys themselves are the beastie. It is quite creepy though. I think maybe Simon has gone mad.

What happens to Simon after the hunters leave his clearing? What is the “lord of the flies”? What does it represent? How does it talk to Simon — what does its speech really indicate? Simon begins to feel quite ill after the hunters leave the clearing. He can't tear his eyes away from the mounted pigs head, and suddenly it starts to speak to him. The Lord of the Flies is the first very obvious representation of the savagery the boys have descended to. It's the very imbosile not of everything Ralph stands agasint and everything Jack is headings towards.

The Lord of the Flies does tell Simon that the beastie is actually just human nature and is living inside every boy on the island, but it also elaborates a little bit by telling Simon that he'll never be able to overcome the beast. The fact that the beastie is human nature is reinforced again when Simon describes the pig's head as looking like an adult human.

It is a Pigs head that jack and his hunters severed from its body after they had killed it and they mounted it on a stick. It represents evil on the island. It talks to Simon but the conversation was most likely all in Simons head and simon is told that the beast is inside the boys themselves.
