Homework instructions: Post a three point plan (your three main ideas) for TWO of the essay topics in the 'The Truman Show Plans' section of the forum. For the other two topics you must reply to someone else's plan with constructive feedback.
Remember, when planning ask yourself why and how? Look at the key words of the topic to see if you can form three main ideas based on those. Perhaps look at both sides of the topic and then expand on one of those sides, or add a third side. Ask yourself, if I was to respond to this topic in a three stage conversation, what would those three stages be?
Here is one of the four topics:
How does Christof exploit Truman?

1. Having freedom and equality is a basic human right which Christof exploited within Truman. Truman doesn't have many freedoms and Christof obviously sees himself as 'higher-ranking' than Truman. When given the choice, Truman decides the leave Seahaven without the knowledge of what lies in the 'real' world.
2. Christof exploits Truman by filming and airing him live to the whole world without his consent, depriving him of his right to privacy.
3. Christof uses Truman and the show he created for his own gain. Christof exploits the vulnerable Truman who doesn't know any different and through it he would be given fame and fortune.

1. Truman is unaware of the situation therefore has no say in the matter. Christof is just using him. 2. It was said that the Truman show creates the profit of a small country. Christof is using trumans life to create money. 3. The lengths Christof tries to keep Truman from leaving, shows how much Christof needs Truman.

I like your plan but i think you should say somewhere is about his life being almost an open book with no privacy. Christof will do anything to get viewers hooked on The Truman show.

Christof exploits Truman by using his life as a source of fame and fortune. Christof manipulates Trumans life to cause him pain and suffering for entertainment Christof robs Truman of his basic right to choose what he wants in life, and robs him of a normal life in a real society.

I think you've done a great job at explaining how Christof has exposed Truman and I think the structure works well. I think that also, because Christof has almost even created Truman and feels like a god compadre to him, he himself almost feels exploited when Truman leaves the show.

Following on from your amazing plan, I think you should add that while Cristoff needs Truman to make his fortune, Truman does not need Cristoff, for he doesn't know he exists and that everything in his life isn't real. Maybe also add that there is a lack of privacy issue in the fact there being cameras literally everywhere on set.

1. Christof has placed Truman in this 'safe' world with cameras almost everywhere on set thinking its the ideal place to live, this allows Truman no freedom or privacy to think and make his own choices. 2. Chistof uses Truman for his own purposes, like fame and money. 3. By doing this Cristof has left Truman vulnerable to the world, if he leaves everyone knows him and he has to live with this for the rest of his life.

I like the order and the use of appealing to human logic and morals/values is really good. Maybe the bottom two are a little overlapping?

Obviously Christof doesn't understand what 'safe' is, not only because of the cameras but in every interaction Truman has with someone is not truthful. He is not being able to experience what a regular life is with people he chooses to meet. Such as the time with Sylvia.

That is an excellent point how Chritof shows how much he needs Truman by going to such far measure to prevent him from leaving.

1. Freedom is what humans value most and Truman is deprived of this without knowing. He is being controlled not only not by choice, but being controlled unknowingly 2. Chrisstoff is constantly filming Trumans life from every angle possible. This is depriving Truman of his privacy. 3. Chrisstoff is not controlling Truman because he cares for him, but because of the success the TV show brings.

1. Christof exploits Truman by putting him on show for the whole world to see and he never gets an privacy because he is on air all day, every day. 2. Truman has been set up and subtly pushed in certain directions for his entire life to keep the show interesting. This means he doesn't have much freedom of choice. 3. By exploiting Truman, Christof gains fame and money. He traps Truman in Seahaven so he can remain being the director of the most loved show in the world.

1. The Right of Privacy is exploited because Truman is live to the whole world meaning he has no privacy, even when he is sleeping a camera is filming him constantly and Christof exploit's Truman by putting his deepened emotion's inside live for the whole world to see without Truman's consent.
2. The lengths Christof try's to keep Truman in Christof's imaginary world of Seahaven is quite immense which demonstrates that Christof need's Truman more when Truman finds out that he doesn't need Christof.
3.By doing this Tv Show for all his life, Truman is vulnerable because of Christof's exploitation of his life and that mean's when he get's out, he will be known by everyone in the world and he will not be emotionally prepared for the outside world.

I agree with all of your points. Christof is definitely exploiting Truman for his own gain, but he may have some feelings for Truman because, as he said, he basically raised Truman and he had spent most of his life directing the show.
