What does Atticus mean when (in Ch.22) he says to Alexandra, "We've made it this way for them, they might as well learn to cope with it."? Integrate a quote into your response.

What does Atticus mean when (in Ch.22) he says to Alexandra, "We've made it this way for them, they might as well learn to cope with it."? Integrate a quote into your response. Atticus is trying to say that adults turned the world into a racist place. He allowed Jem and Scout to go to the court case so that they could learn that bad things happen in the world and they don't grow up thinking everything is fine. ""It ain't right, Atticus." said Jem. "No son, it's not right."
