What is Atticus' view on whether or not it's okay to hate Hitler? Integrate a quote into your answer. It's "not okay to hate anybody," is what Atticus believes. He thinks Hitler is a maniac, but hating him and not trusting him are different things.

Even when faced woth the example of Hitler Atticus maintains his view that it is "not okay to hate anybody." He says that is it fair for one to distrust Hitler, but not to hate him.

I also think that this teaches his kids a lesson about accepting people for who they are, despite the rumours they hear floating around Maycomb; for example the assumptions on Mr Raymond's lifestyle and Boo Radley's supposed 'murder attempt'.

I agree, and the fact that Atticus does not 'hate' Hitler also portrays a great deal about his character and morals. He agrees that Hitler is a maniac but no one should be hated.

I think he also says that its "not okay to hate anybody," as he has tried to teach the children equality and by saying that they can hate people, it isn't reinforcing the idea of equality.

Atticus thinks that "it's not okay to hate anyone" which means he doesn't think it's okay for people to hate Hitler

Atticus' views stand strong as he believes it is "not okay to hate anybody", even someone like Hitler, but it's okay for people to not trust him. His views show people that he disagrees with hating people and hating someone does not support his idea of equality.

Atticus doesn't necissarily hate Hitler, however he understood that his actions were barbaric and inhumane. While he said that it's fair to distrust Hitler but it's "not okay to hate anybody".

He thinks Hitler is a maniac, but hating him and not trusting him are different things. I agree, Atticus strongly believes that you should care about all people and hate no one, and that all races and social classes should be treated equally.
