Why do they all now wish there were grown-ups present? If there were adults present on the island there would be more hope among the boys. An adult is more likely to know ways of being rescued and ways of surviving. Adults would also be able to keep civilisation and take control over the boys. Some of the boys are tired of not having a fully civilised group. If there adults the boys would have more hope and hopefully cooperate easier so they can work together to stay alive.

Adding on: The boys don't have enough hope because they think the adults are responsible for it. The adults are responsible for being the role models in the boys lives. With so little order left in their made up system, the adults could be the answer to solve their issues. The boys know what kind of behaviour and the systematic approach the adults would have but cannot reflect it back to their leadership. They just blame it on their age and wish for the people with experience and power to somehow arrive rather than take action on their own.

The community is falling apart due to disharmony. If grown-ups were around there would be no problems or worries. Some of the boys think that grown-ups would discuss things and everything would be alright. They wouldn't do silly things like set fire to the island and they would build a ship to get off of the island. There would be no fear and no arguments. Grown-ups would fix the community.

At the start of the novel the boys were happy that there were no adults because they felt free and didn't have to stick by any rules. However, now the civilisation on the island is falling apart. If there were adults there none of this would have happened. If an adult was there the littleuns wouldn't be as scared and all the boys would have more hope for rescue.

I think also that they want an overwhelming leader. Someone they call follow without bearing the burden of acting mature.

The boys wish for adults on the island now because they think adults always know what to do because they know things and can sort things out without all the drama and meetings. They would simply talk about it over a cup of tea. Adults also aren't afraid of the dark like the boys are. They a number of reasons why they think it would be better if adults were there with them on the island with this showing how much they feel incapable of running the island because none of the boys respect Ralph's decision as he doesn't have authoritarian figure over the boys.

I think they miss, not necessarily the adults, but more the protectiveness of their parents/guardians, as they know that the parents/guardians would do anything to keep them safe. Where as the big ones often look out for themselves.

Why do they all now wish there were grown-ups present? The boys want a a grown up to look after them so that they don't have all of the responsibility of takign care of themselves anymore. They probably also want an adult because it would be easier for them to enforce rules and order amongst the boys.

The original rush of being by themselves and being able to do whatever they want has worn off and now they are weary of having to make their own desicions. Also, there is always the lurking fear of the beast wearing them down and if adults were around they would feel a lot more protected.

Also, an adult is a comforting figure, and would make the boys feel like they are safer, even if they aren't.

Why do they all now wish there were grown-ups present? They all wish that there were grown ups on the island because they would have a better chance being safe and rescued. Also the boys have begun fighting more, perhaps the adults would bring more civilisation and fairness to the boys.

I think that another reason they want adults is that Ralph and some other boys may be scared that the island will consume jack and he will turn full savage and could attack them. And also, if they eventually get rescued, jack won't be the same as when he first came and will change forever for the worse.

Why do they all now wish there were grown-ups present? If there were adults on the island there would be more hope between the boys as adults would know a lot more about how to survive than the boys do. The boys would more likely listen to the adults because they would have a more open opinion on things. Also the adults would be able to keep the boys civilised.
