All the children co-operate in the building of the fire. How does their cooperation reflect society and civilisation?

When the boys were building the fire they worked together and helped each other out i.e. Ralph, Jack, Simon, Roger and Maurice helped Sam and Eric lift a large log. it showed that working together they could build something large and useful, but they did not take the right steps in planning the fire which lead to it spreading which could have lead to the whole island burning. this reflects society because we do cooperate and help each other which have lead to us building great things, but things will fail without the proper planning and this may cause harm or injury to others.

I agree with this, it is a good sign that the boys have the power and maturity to cooperate with each other. Also they may learn from this mistake and know to fully think things through before undertaking a task.

I agree with your statement basically saying they need to start planning things out more. Without proper planning and just going off instinct at that point, it could be potentially dangerous for all of them. They are doing well working as a team and using good initiative when needed.

All the children co-operate in the building of the fire. How does their cooperation reflect society and civilisation? Co-operation is shown between the boys when Ralph, Jack, Simon, Roger and Maurice help Sam and Eric lift a large log for the fire. In the end, the fire was not constructed properly, leading to the whole island nearly catching fire. This reflects society by showing that it is easier when everyone works as a team, but without team planning it could easily fall apart.

How does their cooperation reflect society and civilisation? when the boys were building the fire, Ralph, Jack, Simon, Roger and Maurice were helping Sam and Eric lift a large sized log to add to the pile of burning material. this showed that the boys could work together as a group and a team but in the end, the whole island nearly caught on fire and burned because they didn't take the proper precautions and the right steps for constructing the fire.

All the children co-operate in the building of the fire. How does their cooperation reflect society and civilisation? All the children cooperate because they have a reason to. They have hope. The hope that someone will rescue them has spurred the teamwork on, but once the common goal is reached, people only do as much work as they need to. This is one of the biggest flaws in our society. People will only do things that will suit them.

Because it was Piggy who told them of their immature response and the past has shown they aren't likely to listen to him.

I think this also reflects society in the way that when they were building the fire Ralph didn't supply very good leadership. Without the knowledge of how to build a proper fire or the leadership to figure it out, the fire quickly got out of control. If we as a human race rushed into things without properly thinking them through or having any guidance, everything would get out of control.

At this stage all the boys have hope that they are going to do something that will help them get recused and they are all energetic because the leaders are setting a positive example for them all. They work as a team when collecting the fire wood. However they didn't like about the consequences when rushing up there to get the wood and they didn't think about the little boys around them either because they could of dropped something on them and injured them. They also didn't take the right precautions before lighting the fire to make sure it wouldn't spread.

People will only do things that will suit them. A few more flaws from the book: As the younger children stop working, the older boys do not take notice of them leaving. In society, some people will only look out for themselves and the immediate people close to them. When this happens, it can be dangerous and unsettling because anything could happen to the vulnerable. This happens when the island is lit by mistake and severe consequences occur to the children. Then another part of society is seen when Ralph puts the blame on Piggy for not making a list of the names. Ralph does not want to look irresponsible and so blames one person instead of admitting the truth.

I agree that the building of the fire represents how in society we all help each other to achieve big things. On top of representing the failure that could happen if things aren't properly planned, I think that the out of control fire could represent that when we all work together we can achieve terrible things as well as good ones. For example, soldiers and armies work together in societies to be violent.

I agree that the boys did work well together to build the fire, but they were so excited about it that they didn't fully think it through. It shows that while they are trying to be grown up and independent on the island, they are still young boys who don't fully understand that doing certain things have consequences.
