How is the destruction of the conch symbolically significant? The destruction of the conch is significant because the conch represents authority and law on the island. It is crushed into dust, just as all rule on the island is crushed. It is also destroyed along with Piggy, the symbol of wisdom, which suggests the two are very closely intertwined and one cannot live without the other.

The destruction of the coch symbolises the last hope of authority and civilisation on the island being lost into nothing. The conch also symbolised Ralph's power, but now that it is gone Ralph has nothing.

How is the destruction of the conch symbolically significant? The destruction of the conch represents the final piece of the boys civilization. The conch was the only item that hold a strong authority on the island and with its destruction follows chaos. Ralph loses his power over the littluns and all his power completely. The younger boys resign to jacks tribe.

The destruction of the conch is significant as it symbolises the last hope of civilisation on the island being destroyed. The conch is smashed just as the order on the island is and it signifies that only Jack's tribe of savages remain. The conch also represented authority, especially Ralph's, and by the conch being broken suggests that the authority Ralph has over the boys and the chance of being rescued, is minute. The conch's destruction also pointed out that civilisation can be easily crushed and that savage behaviours can be forced onto those who cannot hold on to their morality. Savagery and violence destroyed civilisation and order just as the rock pushed by Roger destroyed the conch. the conch has always been a symbol of civilisation and fairness between the boys. when it is destroyed with piggys death, it shows that the one person who cares most about civilisation and the symbol of it are both gone, showing the destruction of it. it also shows that ralph has no more power, or leadership over the boys

The shattering of the conch symbolisises that all order, authority and civilised behaviour is lost on the island, and savagery is the top order.

How is the destruction of the conch symbolically significant? when the conch is destroyed it symbolises the destruction of civilisation or what was left of it. it represented Ralph's authority and now that it is gone, it shows that ralph has no precedence over the boys anymore. it shows that the savages have come out on top and that Ralph has lost to Jack.

How is the destruction of the conch symbolically significant? The conch has symbolised order ever since Ralph found it and used it to summon the boys to the meeting place. The conch being destroyed is symbolic because it shows that all order has finally left the island, and all that's left is Jack and his savages.

How is the destruction of the conch symbolically significant? The destruction of the conch symbolises the destruction of the civilisation on the island. This shows that only Jack's tribe of savages remain on the island and all hope of civilisation is lost. Also, the conch represented Ralph's authority on the island so now it is broken, it represents that all his authority is gone. It represents that savagery will always win over authority and order in a human nature situation.
