Atticus says that you never really understand a person “until you climb into his skin and walk around in it”. What does this mean? Is it an easy thing for Scout to learn? Why?

Atticus is trying to explain that we don't really understand anyone else's life unless you lived as them for a day. He's trying to explain to scout not to judge a book by its cover and don't assume you understand everything about them. This may be hard for Scout to understand as she is young and naive and doesn't have as much wisdom and experience as Atticus.

to walk around in somebodies skin means don't act like you know somebodies life until you've see it from their point of view, scout doesn't understand because she thinks that everything is as clear cut as it looks but when she sees boo Radley she seems to understand more!

When atticus says that you never really know someone until you "climb into his skin and walk around in it" he means that you don't understand or judge someone until you have lived as them for a day. scout does not understand this because she young and hasn't lived a long enough life unlike Atticus

Another way of putting it is not to judge someone as you don't know what's going on in there life, and if you did you may think differently. You can't just assume someone is what you think they are. It's not fair on them. And as Scout is young and naive she may find this hard to understand, but it's a great thing to learn really early on in life as people generally grow up judging people from what they see or have heard, and not everything is true.

“Until you climb into his skin and walk around in it”, Atticus tells her how she won't understand anyone unless it is their point of view.

Atticus is explaining that you can never really fully understand a person until you've lived as them for a certain amount of time. He's indicating that they shouldn't judge others based off small bits of information about a person. This is hard for Scout to understand because she is young.

The analogy "To walk in another shoes" means to view an individuals actions by their circumstances. Jem is unable to understand this because she can only take his words at face value though as she matures she will be able to understand Atticus' words.
