Dill attempts to explain Jem's state of dress by saying that they were playing strip poker down by the fish-pool. This gets him in trouble because his aunt believes this is true and that he was gambling at his age.

Dill attempts to explain Jem's state of dress by saying that they were playing strip poker down by the fish-pool. This gets him in trouble because his aunt believes this is true and that he was gambling at his age. also in gambling in Maycomb wasn't acceptable especially if the kids were gambling. But then jem had lied an said they were playing with matches.
