Why does Jack so dislike Piggy? Jack disliked Piggy because Piggy was more of a realist, while Jack liked how many of the other boys would blindly listen to anything he said and believe him, giving him more power to be leader. However, Piggy would often give a more realistic perspective and responsible view on things, bringing the boys to actually think for themselves and not blindly follow Jack's every word, which, to Jack, was very annoying and draining of his popularity. Piggy also was not one of the 'tougher' boys, as he was rather weak, having both asthma and glasses, meaning that in any situation that required strength he was more of a setback than an asset.

Jack doesn't like Piggy because he is used to everyone following his orders, no matter what they are. Piggy, however doesn't follow him and has a more realistic view on everything and isn't afraid to stand up for what he thinks is right. Jack is afraid that the boys will start believing what Piggy says because he is more responsible and makes the boys think for themselves.

Why does Jack so dislike Piggy? Jack dislikes piggy because he is used to everybody listening to his orders and not questioning him. Piggy however does not like to follow jacks orders and opinions. The fact that Piggy ignores Jack makes Jack look bad and brings down what others think of him. Jack feels threatened by Piggy because Piggy has the knowledge to take Jacks leadership away. Piggy also has a realistic approach to everything and makes the other boys think for themselves.

Jack could feel threatened by Piggy's intelligence, he just lacks the authority to speak up about what he knows. Jack would definitely not want the others questioning him and his orders so having Piggy there to undermine him would make him strongly dislike him.

He likes and is used to being in charge and having people listen and follow him. Jack sees himself as a strong leader whom everyone should follow blindly. Having someone speak up is something he isn't used to and subsequently he doesn't like it.

Yes you can see that Piggy is now standing up for what he believes and he isn't going to listen or do what jack says unless he feels like it is the right thing to do. Also Jack is afraid that with Piggy standing up for himself and expressing the way he feels the group will start to listen to what Piggy has to say and they will start to follow Piggy and his actions.

Jack dislikes Piggy simply because Jack is used to the choir boys following his words, but when Piggy defies his statements Jack uses his authority to ruin Piggy's struggling social importance to the group. Every word out of Piggy's mouth is words Jack doesn't want himself or his choir boys hearing, so Jack gets to the point of shooting Piggy a death stare just before Piggy was about to open his mouth.

Jack is probably threatened by Piggy's insight and realistic outlook, therefore would like to bring him down to try and gain authority back, even when Piggy is right. I do feel sympathy for Piggy as he is consistently picked one because the boys are all influenced by Jack and Ralph. Jack also most likely shows that he doesn't like Piggy to (wrongfully) gained the respect of the boys. If the boys start to realise that Piggy is right, then both Ralph's and Jack's positions as leaders are in danger.

Why does Jack so dislike Piggy? Jack dislikes piggy because he is used to being in charge and being the leader and having everyone obey him and listen to what he has to say. Piggy does not do this and he is opposed to jacks thinking. Piggy makes the boys think for themselves and not follow and believe everything jack says or does and this is taking away from jacks superiority.

Jack probably sees Piggy as useless. Even though Simon said that Piggy proved himself useful when lighting the fire, it was Jack's idea to use Piggy's glasses and all Piggy did was complain about not being able to see. Jack doesn't notice Piggy's intelligence because every time Piggy opens his mouth to say something, Jack stops listening. They are very different boys.

Jack has a negative feeling about Piggy as he (Piggy) is coming up with near to all the good ideas out of all the boys. I sense there is a touch of disapproval and disappointment about this as Jack may have been expecting he and his choir take the reigns. So it seems now Jack either does not listen to Piggy or steals his ideas and projects them as his own. Each of the boys seems to have a strong opinion on the what ever the topic is at hand, so only the stronger and more authoritative gets to speak.

Why does Jack so dislike Piggy? Jack dislikes Piggy because Piggy talks. He accuses Jack and Ralph and all the other boys of acting like little kids and doing wrong. And granted Piggy is not going about talking to the boys the right way, and would annoy anyone I’m sure. But it enrages jack because Jack believes that he, himself, is always right. His despotic ego will not allow abrogation to occur, especially in front of the boys that didn’t elect him chief. Piggy’s condemning accusations do not sit well with him, not to mention the fact that Jack dislikes anyone being superior to him in any way, intelligence or otherwise.
