Calpurnia speakers differently due to her thinking she needes to speak differently to the African American people then to the White people.

Calpurnia speaks differently in the Finch household and among her neighbours at church because she feels the need to speak more respectfully towards the Finch family compared to the people at her church. I agree, Calpurnia felt that she needed to be even more respectful when speaking to the Finch family than the people in her church. This shows how blacks and whites could say the same thing but come across completely differently depending on their colour.
