From Dill running away we learn that he doesn't feel loved by his family and prefers to come stay with Jem and Scout as he feels more loved and that he has a blonging. He seems to be a lost child as he is always hanging out with the other children that he isn't a part of their family. this also shows us the Dill is a very smart boy being able to find his way around Maycomb by himself and is independent.

We lean that he feels more welcome and comforted with Scout and Jem. He feels as though he belongs somewhere. And that he's the outsider and that he doesn't belong in his family.

Dill runs away because he thinks he is not important for his parents. He seems to be sick of his new dad who never keeps the promise. Another possibility is because he is sick of his parents buying his love rather than caring about him and spending more time with him. "that wasn't it, he-they just wasn't interested in me." Dill said.

What we learn from Dill running away is that he didn't feel like he belonged with his family. He was always hanging with other children. Being with Jem and Scout he felt like he finally belonged.
