Why did Heck Tate and the other men come to see Atticus?

Heck Tate went to see Atticus to inform him that Tom was being transferred, the other men were there to show their support.

Atticus' friend come to see him because they want Tom Robinson to be put in jail and mainly they want to blame him for defending a Negro.
