The kkk was a group of disguised themselves and would dress up and torture African-Americans. Atticus promised Jem that they wouldn't be coming back as he comforts them. They would dress up in white and torture, murder and beat African Americans |

The Ku Klux Klan was a group of people disguised in white robes. They would bash, beat, torture and murder mainly African Americans. Atticus tries to comfort Jem and Scout by telling them they won't come back, but clearly his distressed by them.
