Comment on Judge Taylor's attitude to his job. Does he take the trial seriously or not? Explain your reasoning.

Judge Taylor takes his job seriously as he always remains in control in the court room. He chose Atticus as Tom's defender as Atticus was the only person in town who would take it seriously and therefore had a slim chance of winning. Although during the case he put his feet up on the desk and cleaned his fingernails with a pocket knife, this shows he didn't think Tom's case would win.

I agree with amysutherland as the judge was serious about Tom Robinson's case. But he was very mildly considerate about this case. as he thought that this case would not win because the "white" people would disagree with Tom as Atticus is trying to defined Tom Robinson.
