Her father seems very protective over Mayella in the courtroom as he always has his arm around her but there is suspicion that he hurts her.

I would say the relationship doesn't seem very strong and there is a lot of lying going on. He also is very protective and comes across as caring a lot, although this is debatable after knowing he has hurt her in the past. |

Mayella and her father, Bob Ewell, do not have a close bond as father and daughter as they don't show any affection, instead he abuses her when he is drunk and angry. |

Mayella is scared of her father as he is abusing her. Bob is almost constantly drunk and this makes him agitated and have a short temper

Mayella feels as though she must lie in order to keep a ok relationship with her father. We find out that their relationship can be changed into a negative one very quickly if she was to do something Bob Ewell does not like. |

Mayella and her father seem to have a good relationship when in public or the court room but we are suspicious of this as he may be abusive towards her, meaning that there public relationship is fake.
