What, according to Atticus, is the thing that Mayella has done wrong?

The thing that Atticus is referring to is that Mayella is a white woman and she persuaded a 'negro' man. She kissed an African-American, which is considered as an unthinkable act in their society. She broke a frowned upon code, which has completely buried her in filthy lies to save herself.

She broke a frowned upon code, which has completely buried her in filthy lies to save herself. As her lies saved her in court, the unthinkable thing she had done seemed peculiar. As she had said she never kissed an adult before. Tom Robinson tried to back away trying not to touch her.
