Curley's wife is a tramp. She is there to cause trouble as she has a way with men and Lennie isn't the brightest to understand to stay clear from her. She has Curly wrapped around her finger.

Not only is Curley's wife a tramp and has Curley wrapped around her finger, she also hints or 'gives the men the eye' to the other ranch workers. George is cold in feelings toward her as he understands what she's like, while Lennie simply states that, "She's purty." |

Curlys wife also wasn't dreseed up for where the men worked or lived, she "...had full, rouged lips and wide-spaced eyes, heavily made up. Her fingernails were red... She wore a cotton house dress and red mules, on the insteps of which were little bouquets of red ostrich feathers." |

Curlers wife is a woman who married Curley out of spite of her parents (I think) and she's not aloud to talk to anyone but curly which is ridiculous so she lonely and tries to talk to Lennie and George not knowing about their past and that Lennie can act out of instinct.
