At the end of this chapter, Jem forms a new theory about why Boo Radley has never left his house in years. What is this? How likely is it to be true, in your opinion?

Gems new theory about Boo staying locked up is that he wants to, as no one in Maycomb can bet along and its better to stay out of it than in all the mess. This is partly true, there would be more to the reason but Jem is only just starting to understand so he wouldn't completely understand yet.

Boo also doesn't like being the center of attention and and being talked about even though he is, so this will also lead to him staying at home.

Jem believes that Boo is to nervous to come out and doesn't want to get involved in all the drama of the community.

Jem believes that Boo is to nervous to come out and doesn't want to get involved in all the drama of the community. Boo is also better off than most of the people in Maycomb because he's not caught up in all of the nastiness.

He thinks Boo doesn't come out because he doesn't want to. He says this after a discussion about all the different kinds of people in the world.

Jem says to Scout, "I think I’m beginning to understand why Boo Radley’s stayed shut up in the house all this time… it’s because he wants to stay inside.” Jem comes to his belief that Boo Radley isolates himself from the community because he would rather be left alone. This is just Jem's theory and he obviously doesn't understand why Mr Radley stays inside his house all day long.

Jems new theory about boo radley is that he doesn't go outside because he doesn't want to. This is sort of true as boo doesn't like to go outside but there is more to the story. Jem is still a child and doesn't understand everything completely but he is sort of on the right track
