How, in this chapter, do we see Aunt Alexandra in a new light? How does Miss Maudie support her?

In chapter 24 of To Kill a Mockingbird, Aunt Alexandra is portrayed in a different light. As she shows emotional feelings towards her brother's wellbeing as the death of Tom Robinson occurred. She shows affection towards Scout and gives her a smile across the table, signalling to have some cookies. As Scout states, "After all, if Aunty could be a lady at a time like this, so could I."

This shows how if Aunt Alexandra treated Scout nicely she would have mire of an impact on Scout's life then when she's abrupt and rude.

It shouldn't take such a tragic circumstance for someone to show empathy and be kind. At least Aunt Alexandra came through at the right time.
