Scout gets a new respect for Aunt Alexandra because she didn't think she would have ever thanked anyone. Although, being the reader you realize what is really going on. Miss Maudie is standing up for Atticus.

Miss Maudie is standing up for Atticus. I agree. Scout gets a new perspective for aunt Alexandra. The readers also get a new perspective of her. Previously she was thought as to be racist as everyone else. |
