Maycomb reacted to the news of Tom's death is that they gossiped about it and saying the stereotypes about Tom how typical it to what happened to Tom. They also said that the African -American were 'foolish'.

They say that he was almost stupid to try and escape from prison, the white Americans also talked about how it was a stereotypical way to die for a black man.

They also said that the African -American were 'foolish'. The town showed no mourning or empathy to the death of Tom Robinson. As the community of Maycomb states, "To Maycomb, Tom’s death was typical. Typical of a nigger to cut and run. Typical of a nigger’s mentality to have no plan, no thought for the future, just run blind first chance he saw... You know how they are. Easy come, easy go." This statement just shows how racist the town of Maycomb is. |

The town of may comb went on as usual, they thought this was a typical way for an African-American man to die. This shows us that the town has no respect for anyone |
