Scout decides to keep her costume on while walking home. How does this affect her understanding of what happens on the way?

This affects her understanding of what happens as she was unable to balance herself, hear correctly or see properly although the ham costume may as well saved both her and Jem's life.

the reason that scout could not see, hear or run away from the fight was from the ham costume she was wearing but if it wasn't for the ham costume scout would have been dead when bob ewell made the stab at her

The decision that Scout made to wear her costume home probably saved her and Jem's life. The reason was because in the costume she could not balance, see or hear very well.

She decided to wear her costume home because she said she lost her dress and her shoes as we'll he effect her understanding of what happens on the way because she couldn't really see what's going on so she hides in it
