Why does Scout have Boo bend his arm as they leave the Finch house?

I believe Scout has Boo bend his arm as they leave the Finch house because perhaps through her lessons with Aunt Alexandra, she has learnt that the proper way to walk with a gentleman is by holding onto their bent arm. This also could be entirely incorrect and just be Scout's way of supporting a quiet man who could have been in shock over the attack on the children.

It shows that Scout is growing up and is becoming more caring and attentive to others.

It symoblises Scout seeing Boo as a person rather than a "malevolent phantom" as Aunt Alexandra taught her men walk ladies in this way.

Scout has been brought up to act 'proper' by her adult figures, so she would think odd that Boo does not do this. But he may not have done it as he has not had influences as to how he should act.

Scout might also have held his arm to provide comfort and support to him as it is is first time outside and he was probably scared.

By getting Boo to bend his arm, it could be Scout showing proper ladylike etiquette or it may also be Scout showing comfort and support towards Boo due to the attack he has just witness. Plus he rarely comes out of the house so him coming out for one, and then seeing this would have shaken him.

I belive Scout makes Boo bend his arm to show her ladylike etiquette she has viewed possibly from her Aunty. It could also be to feel more comfortable around each other as it could provide subconscious support for both Boo and Scout.

I think that the reason Scout encourages Boo to bend his hand as they are leaving the Finch household is partly because Aunt Alexandra had shown her that, that was the proper and polit thing to do and partly because she wanted to show Boo that she was thankful for his help. It also could be her trying to comfort him after the ordeal.

I believe she bends his arm as she realises how to properly walk with a gentleman

She wants herself and Boo to be seen as a lady and a gentlemen, because he deserves that respect.

Why does Scout have Boo bend his arm as they leave the Finch house? This may be because she can put her arm in it. She wants anyone that may see them walking to see Boo as a gentlemen so they couldn't say anything bad about him.

I think Scout wanted to show him she is ladylike, and had learnt a lot from Aunt Alexander. She also may of been trying to show Boo that she is comfortable around him and doesnt think he is a monster.

Scout has Boo bend his arm so she can put her arm through it to make Boo seem like a gentleman to add some positivity to the way the community views him. She wanted people to see "Arthur Radley escorting [her] down the sidewalk, as any gentleman would do".

Scout gets Boo to bend his arm as she is becoming more like a proper lady and integrating Boo into the usual Maycomb lifestyle.
