How does Link Deas help Helen Robinson and why?

Mr Link Deas, Tom Robinson's previous employer, makes a job for Helen Robinson as he feels bad about how things turned out for her. Helen confesses to Mr link deas that she cannot walk on the public road because Bob Ewell "chunked at her". Furiously, Link Deas approaches Mr Bob Ewell's front gate and shouts, “I know every last one of you’s in there a-layin‘ on the floor! Now hear me, Bob Ewell: if I hear one more peep outa my girl Helen about not bein’ able to walk this road I’ll have you in jail before sundown!” By this statement Link Deas is standing up for Helen Robinson and threatens Bob Ewell to stop or else.

link Deas helps Helen by not only giving her a job to work for him but when link discovers that the reason that helen is so late is because bob ewell always attacks her with harsh words and throwing stuff at her when she takes the main road making her take the long way, so link walks up to ewells house and threatens that if he does another thing to Helen then he will report him to the police, link does all this because tom used to work for him and felt bad f Helen and knew that now that tom had died Helen wold need to make income.

Mr Link Deas helps Helen Robinson because he feels she has been through enough. Now not only loosing Tom, she cops abuse telling her she can't walk down a public street by Mr Ewell's.

Link Deas offers Helen, Tom's wife, a job working for him.When he finds out Bob Ewell has been harassing Helen on her way to work, he finds Ewell an explains to him in no uncertain terms that if Ewell continues to harass Helen, Deas will make certain that he suffers the consequences. Ewell does not bother Helen again
