What problems are developing between Jack and Ralph in this chapter, and why? Jack was tasked with hunting, which, although he was unable to catch anything, he seemed to be enjoying, whereas Ralph was to make shelters with Simon. This made Ralph jealous, because whilst he was working on something he hated, Jack was able to do something he actually enjoyed, even if he wasn't particularly good at it. I agree that Ralph seemed jealous that Jack had the oppurtunity to work on a job that he actually enjoyed, which is partly the reason why Ralph was angry with him in this chapter. But I also think that the main reason why Ralph was angry towards Jack was because his hunting was stopping him from helping Ralph with the shelters and Ralph was becoming frustrated with the lack of progress.
