What effect does the 'warpaint' on his face have on Jack? Can you think of other examples in society when people experience this sensation? Once jack had applied the clay and charcoal to colour his face, he felt no shame or self consciousness anymore and he was excited about it. It made him feel as if he could do different things now and things he had really wanted to do because he wasn't jack anymore in a sense. People may put on masked if they are feeling extremely sad or upset so as to hide their real emotions and have a sort of facade that doesn't show emotions to the people around them. |
