He stopped playing jokes on Lennie because one day he told him to jump in the river and swim and he nearly died because he doesn't now how to swim, George saved him but Lennie didn't even get angry he just said thankyou for saving him. After that George felt guilty.

When George and Lennie were younger, George played jokes on Lennie. He stopped doing this because one time he told Lennie to jump into a river, he knew that Lennie couldn't swim but still did pranked him. George felt really bad for doing this, so he stopped playing jokes on him.

When they were younger George used to play jokes on Lennie but it wasn't funny until Lennie jumped into the river and nearly drown because of his jokes and that is why he doesn't do it anymore. Because Lennie is so dumb and he does anything hes told to do it could get very dangerous. |

The reason why George stopped playing jokes on lennie was because this one time where lennie jumped willingly in to the water but he couldnt swim so after that he never played jokes on him ever again.

George told lennie to jump in the river and lennie did when he didn't know how to swim and nearly drowned this made george stopped joking. George realised lennie would do anything u tell him to do this made George realised he had responsibilities to look after lennie
