George travels with Lennie because, after Lennie almost drowned and the shame George felt for doing so, he has been with Lennie since to make sure he's safe and is being kept out of trouble. For example in Weed, when Lennie kept hold of the girl's dress, George hides with Lennie in an irrigation ditch until dark. And George has already made Lennie remember that if he gets in trouble to go and hide in the brush.

George travels with Lennie because when lennies aunt dies, Lennie had no one to take care of him. And because Lennie would not survive if he took care of himself, George took care of him.

With the help of Lennie, they could make a great team because Lennie is working type of guy and George could always do the talking.

It mainly has to do with when George told Lennie to jump into the water. Although they were traveling together before that, I think George feels sorry for Lennie.

George and lennie travel together because Lennie learns that his auntie passed away and without her no one can take care of him. So George decided he would and it gives George company whilst his traveling.

after lennies aunt died he was pretty much helpless so George came along and is taking care of him but lennie is also looking after him, and they travel together everywhere.
