When Crooks sees Lennie at his door way, Crooks tells Lennie to go away and that he has no right to be there. When he realises Lennie means know harm he allows him to come in and talk. This reaction is because Crooks is black, in these times black people get discriminated, so Crooks is always feeling lonely. Black people were always wary around white.

Lennie noticed the bright light in front of crook's room, so he decided to enter. When Lennie entered the room, Crook was shocked to see him standing in front of the door. Crook later says 'Lennie is a nice guy'.

Lennie wanted to see his pup and happened to noticed Crook's light so he entered his room. When Lennie entered Crook's room, Crook was immediately shocked and asked Lennie to go away. This tells us that Crook is lonely.

Lennie goes and visits Crook, Crook tells him to leave because his room was his, he was black and he wasn't allowed to be in the bunk house due to his skin colour. he doesn't like any of the white people because of the way they treat him, but Lennie isn't like that, as he isn't racist.

Crook didn't know how to handle lennie and someone not being and asshole to him for once. Crook is also kind of like Lennon with the way he acts but that could be from when he was kicked by a horse.
