What is Lennie doing in the barn by himself?

Leonie is in the barn, at first alone, as he wants to be with his beloved brown-and-White puppy from Slim. Unfortunately, due to 'petting' the puppy to hard, Lennie finds the dog dead, which then activates him. Leonine is now worried that Geroge won't let him 'ten to the rabbits.'

Lennie is also debating wiht himself whether he should try and hide the evidence of him killing the puppy and reminiscing that he won't be able to tend the rabbits. |

Lennie is looking for the puppy's to pat but he is not aloud to pat the animals that's why he is in the barn all alone

Lennie gets angry at the dead puppy saying its not as small as a mice and that this shouldn't of happened and it isn't his fault its the puppies. |
