Why does Lennie think that he might not get to tend the rabbits?

because he killed the dog and he is worried he will not be able to tend the rabbaits Lennie is afraid that George will be really mad at him and will take the privilege of tending to the rabbits off him as a form of punishment for killing the dog by accident. |

The reason he thinks he can't pet the rabbits is because he killed the dog and by doing that he thinks he might kill all the rabbits he wants to get

Lennie is worried that George won't let him tend the rabbits because of the sudden unfortunate death if his puppy. Lennie doesn't feels much empathy for the puppy's death, but is more concerned about not being able to tend the rabbits
