Why does Ralph call the assembly, and what is he trying to achieve? Because the boys aren't as motivated and they don't follow Ralph as they did in the beginning, he calls this important meeting to talk to the boys seriously about things. They have many meetings but the boys don't usually do the things that are talked about and so Ralph wants to 'put things straight' by telling them again that it is essential to keep the fire burning and it must always have smoke and he also talks about the toilet arrangements and the shelters.

Why does Ralph call the assembly, and what is he trying to achieve? He is calling a assembly to set things straight on the island. The boys have many assemblies but they never achieve anything after the assemblies, that they decided to work on. He is trying to bring back the law onto the island which will then make the island run smoother. He also wants them to stop thinking about the beastie.

Why does Ralph call the assembly, and what is he trying to achieve? Ralph calls the assembly so he can "put things straight" and try to get all of the boys on the same page so that they'll realise that things like the signal fire and smoke are more important than hunting for meat. He wants to put them all bac on track with their duties so theey become a more functional civilisation.
