When Percival Wemys Madison cries, what feelings does he unleash in the others? When Percival cries, he reminds all the other boys of their life back home and what they are missing. They were all taught the same information by their own parents and probably could recite it just as Percival does. Maurice, as an attempt to cheer the boys up, acts silly and pretends to fall over. This helps in distracting the boys.
