Why didn't Jack and the hunters come for the conch? Because they don't believe in its importance anymore. They came for the glasses because that is something they need to survive. They don't want the conch because they've reverted to a dictatorship and no longer believe in freedom of speech. Jack seizes authority by his brutality, and does not need the conch to gain power. It is meaningless to him. Taking the glasses not only aides them, but the action demonstrates his power, as asking for fire would set Ralph and Jack on equal footing.

Why didn't Jack and the hunters come for the conch? Jack and his hunters do not come for the conch because they do not need it, and it is no threat to them. Jack can command a quiet audience without the use of a conch. The glasses, however, are needed for fire, and taking it disadvantages Ralph, Piggy, and the boys.

The conch was often used to get Ralph to be paid attention to, and since he is no longer in charge, it would only remind him of when Ralph was in charge.

Jack never really liked the idea of the conch, so the idea of taking it from Ralph probably never even crossed his mind.
