Homework instructions: Post a three point plan (your three main ideas) for TWO of the essay topics in the 'The Truman Show Plans' section of the forum. For the other two topics you must reply to someone else's plan with constructive feedback.
Remember, when planning ask yourself why and how? Look at the key words of the topic to see if you can form three main ideas based on those. Perhaps look at both sides of the topic and then expand on one of those sides, or add a third side. Ask yourself, if I was to respond to this topic in a three stage conversation, what would those three stages be?
Here is one of the four topics:
It is suggested that Christof is someone who likes to stay out of the public eye and guards his privacy. Discuss the moral issues surrounding Christof, as the director and creator of “The Truman Show”, forcing Truman’s life into the public arena without his consent.

1. Christof is portrayed as being out of the public eye. He is always in the "office" doing his work and never interacts with the public directly. 2. Christof has given Truman a life that is always in the spotlight. Truman never gave content to be a part of the show and Christof still thrust this upon him. 3. Even though Christof is a reserved character, he created a life for Truman that is always in the spotlight. This juxtaposition makes the viewer question Christofs thought process and what he wants in this life.

I also think Christof is obsessed with the running of the show and lives his life through Truman's, so Truman's friends are Christof's friends and he is letting Truman live a life that he would wish to live.

Christof allows complete invasion of privacy for Truman to be viewed by millions, yet continues to hide behind Trumans fame.

It leads us to wonder whether maybe Christof is hiding behind Truman. Like he still wants people to know his name, but he doens't want people to know his face.

You're points are very good but you might want to add how christof is showing all parts of Truman's life to the world and how he would feel in this position, for example, he could be having a moral dilemma and feeling that although he is making a name for himself and is earning a lot of money, he is also almost ruining somebody's life because he isn't letting Truman experience what is real.

Following on from this, I think you should add how he feels a kind of responsibility for Truman as he sees himself as a father. He has seen every aspect of Truman's life and has controlled everything accordingly to make it as enjoyable as possible.

You could add something about what Christof may want in life, he put Truman in the exact position he stays out of, by claiming to have a busy schedule.

-Christof is a private person who likes to stay out of the public eye, but he has created a show which follows Truman every second.
-Christof created a life for Truman where he is always being watched and being followed, without his consent.
-The fact that Christof is hiding behind Truman makes the viewer question Christof and his actions.

Discuss the moral issues surrounding Christof, as the director and creator of “The Truman Show”, forcing Truman’s life into the public arena without his consent. 1. Christof is gurding his privacy in order to have Truman as his identity. As he is consumed by the Truman Show, the audience pictures Christof through the show. 2. Christof's life becomes obsessed with Truman's. He is like a father, and can't let either of them grow out of the show and move on. 3. Truman's life is played with to suit Christof's wishes with no concern for Truman himself. There is no privacy regarding Truman when Christof is always keeping to himself.

1. Chrisstoff is a very reserved character. He does not like attention nor being in the publics eye. 2. Trumans life is exposed to the whole world, not by choice. Everybody knows everything about Truman 3. Chrisstoff is willingly exposing someone else's life to the world but is very strict about keeping his own privacy. This may be because he wants to avoid any hate amongst the audience.

Your plan is quite good but another point to add would be that Christof does sort of be in the public eye because he talk's to reporter's about the show so he sort of get's attention through that medium.

1. Christof's life is very private, not on show to anyone, only being revealed during things such as interviews. 2. However, without Truman knowing, his whole life is completely public, seen by everyone. 3. Christof allows Truman's life to be seen by all without consent, whilst keeping his own privacy.
